Week Two -- Internet safety pre- & post-tests & scavenger hunt (USA-SOS.org); use Office 365 Account (not Google) document and collaborate with team to complete the scavenger hunt. Begin process of using Google to create and design a website welcome page and side bar with navigation titles and links.

Week Four -- Google Drawing Unit, cross platform: Google onlline & MS Word. Students will explore the shapes, tools, concepts, and menus available in the Google & Word. Students will do a collaborative drawing IN CLASS, with no voices or talking allowed, although messaging the partner is expected. Grading Rubrics for Drawing. The following day, student will complete an independent, solo drawing. Rubric/directions are also at the above link, if you scroll down.

Week Five -- Presentations.
Presentations -- Voice Thread, Iowa AEA references (iClipArt), and quotations from Hearts and Minds. org. Make a poster of your favorite quotation & add clipart. Upload to your Voice Thread account, and make a video of yourself reading the quotation. Share with peers and RECEIVE peer feedback in the form of a video, audio, typed, and drawn response. GIVE peer feedback of same. References: class demonstrations and Voice Thread tutorials. Embed completed Voice Thread with peer comments (audio, video, typed, and drawn) on your webpage.

Week Six -- Spreadsheet. Introduction to Excel spreadsheet environment and general practices. Basic spreadsheet vocabulary, simple formulas and functions introduced. Emphasis on estimating answer and using simple numbers to prove formula before replacing with larger numbers. Format cell to general, number, currency, decimals, font and size.

Week Seven -- Quick review of surveys (Google form). Create a survey about a topic demonstrating concepts presented in class. Share survey with peers and create charts to communicate results. Survey directions.
Research on the Internet -- Evaluate (challenge) the website. Class will participate in a demonstration of concept of authorship / authority of publisher on topic. Students will use advanced search techniques to locate a university library's page on evaluating online resources & list/summarize basic concepts.

Week Eight -- Create a video and post it on your website. Students will assemble information on how to evaluate a website resource for reliability, work with a partner to write a script, create a puppet, film/capture video clips, upload clips to a video editor, and edit clips into a video which will be added to each student's website. Students will edit transitions, captions, and sound. Finalized movie will be uploaded to their Google Drive, shared, then inserted into their website.

_Create a presentation describing how to evaluate a website you find while doing research. Use notes taken in class, put key ideas in writing, show teacher, then develop your presentation in either Voki or PowerPoint. Use Grant Wood resource collections.
Week Nine -- Student shows classwork and this website to parents, brings comments from conference to teacher. Demo of phishing with e-mails from bogus Amazon, E-Bay, PayPal, Western Union, and banks/ credit cards to identify online scams and how to avoid becoming a victim. Review safety, then use PhotoBooth to create image (stuffed animal, shoe, etc.), upload to BeFunky photo editor, and apply variety of effects.
